Surface Rewinders

The SOMATEC Surface Rewinders offers a compact and low-cost alternative compared with turret winders or double station winders with accumulator. The surface winders are equipped with an automatic reel change system and can be equipped optionally with integrated slitting devices and handling devices. The main range of application is behind nonwoven production lines, within paper finishing lines and also in film production lines.
The Surface winder SW is characterized by the following advantages:

• Automatic reel change at full production speed onto adhesive prepared cores.
• Optimal winding conditions by surface winding from the first to the last layer; thereby no telescoping at multiple web winding during reel change.
• Winding tension and contact tension selectable with taper modes.
• Compact design, thereby large winding diameters are reachable at smallest machine size.
• Optional edge trimming and multiple web slitting with blade cut, scissors cut or crush cut depending on product requirements
• Optional reel handling and winding shaft handling equipment

• Working width from 1000 to 3000 mm (39" to 118")
• Speed up to 200 m/min (650 ft/min)
• Reel diameter up to 2000 mm (79")
• Cores with an inner diameter of 3" or 6"
