Oscillation of the winding station within the turret winder ATW

Will you have reels wound with a larger diameter at the ends than in the center when winding edge trimmed film? The oscillation of the winding station can be a remedy to get a cylindrical wound reel. SOMATEC has realized this function now within the Turret Winder ATW, so that edge trimmed webs can be always wound non-stop and in-line with perfect quality.

The oscillation of the winding station is done directly by a controlled sideways movement of the winders chucks, which will work apart from that as normal pneumatically operated chucks. Either a shaftless reel support is possible or winding shafts can be used. The traversing is done motorised and is therefore very smooth and precisely.

Of course all relevant parameters as oscillation stroke and oscillation speed can be preset at the operator panel of the turret winder. Also these parameters can be stored for a replication in the future. The diameter increase of the reel is automatically recognised by the control system so that the result of the oscillation is equal over the entire wound diameter.
