"Smart fox" of the BGHM goes to SOMATEC

Our newly designed office, which reduces noise pollution, among other things, has now been awarded the "Smart Fox". We are pleased that this successful project is now being recognised with this award. You can find out more about the award and the conversion here.

The BGHM presents the "Smart Fox" as an award for outstanding achievements in the field of occupational safety and health protection in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the wood and metal industry. The award is intended to encourage and reward companies that are particularly committed to the safety and health of their employees. Each year, awards are given to companies that have made special achievements in the areas of occupational safety and health. The award includes a cash prize and a trophy.

The idea behind the award is that companies that take care of the safety and health of their employees are also more successful economically. With the "Smart Fox", the BGHM wants to create awareness for this topic and encourage companies to take action.

SOMATEC in Hamelin is an example of a company that has increased the satisfaction and performance of its employees through targeted measures in the area of occupational safety and health protection. Project manager Thorsten Kuhlmann and product designer Heiko Wittlif implemented the employees' wish for more noise protection and ergonomics in everyday work in a conversion measure. The result was a newly designed design office that reduces noise pollution and improves ergonomics.

A short audio interview shows how the open-plan office was redesigned and how the conversion has affected everyday working life. Andreas Franzki, supervisor at BGHM, spoke on site with safety officer Stefan Schulz and designer Timo Hermann.
