SOMATEC wishes you happy holidays and a happy new year

2023 was a year full of events and innovations for SOMATEC. As we approach the end-of-year festivities, we would like to pause for a moment to look back on the highlights of the past year and take an optimistic look ahead to 2024.

A step towards the new normal

After the coronavirus years and the outbreak of the still devastating war in Ukraine in the previous year, 2023 was a step back towards normality for Somatec. The biggest supply difficulties, particularly for electrical components, seem to have been overcome and, despite high inflation, material prices have leveled off again and allow for serious pricing. Despite these adversities, we were able to celebrate numerous successful project completions thanks to the efforts of our employees and the partnership-based cooperation with our customers and suppliers.

Innovative support for the youth fire brigade

This year, we made a social commitment at the beginning of the year with our support for the Hessisch Oldendorf youth and children's fire department. By providing a new trailer equipped with a fire simulation trainer and a smoke house, we have helped to raise awareness of fire safety. This initiative makes it possible to impressively convey the dangers of fires and smoke development to children and young people using the model.

Recognition for innovation and safety

Our commitment to innovation and safety was also recognized this year when we received the "Smart Fox" award from the BGHM. This award is in recognition of our redesigned design office, which has significantly improved working conditions with noise barriers and height-adjustable desks. This award underlines our commitment to excellence in all areas, including workplace design.

Successful presence at international trade fairs

2023 was also a year of intensive exchange and networking at the industry trade fairs that took place again. Our participation in Chinaplas in Shanghai and ICE Europe in Munich enabled us to present the latest developments in the field of winding technology. These events not only enabled us to strengthen our customer relationships, but also to make valuable new contacts and exchange ideas with other industry experts.

New information materials and market development

As part of our participation in trade fairs, we have also revised our information materials. The new brochures, which are now in line with our current corporate design, offer a clear and concise presentation of our product portfolio and can also be downloaded from our website.

Last but not least, the development of a new market segment through the use of our winding machines in the production of electrode foils for batteries was another important step. We have shown that SOMATEC can also play an important role in the growth market of electromobility and are optimistic about this development.
